More than 1,500 high school seniors and their parents and guests participated in Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Bulldog Day on Tuesday, October 2.  The event, held at the Jackson County, Jefferson Davis and Perkinston campuses, gives high school seniors an inside look at college life  as well as information about applying for admission, available scholarships, campus activities and a tour of various college facilities.

“It is exciting to have so many prospective students and their parents on our campuses to see all that Gulf Coast has to offer,” said Miranda Hedman, director of Recruitment and Student Success. “Our focus is always on our students at MGCCC, and we are pleased that so many seniors and their parents were able to meet with current students, faculty and staff and experience the great things happening at MGCCC.”

During the event, students experienced a peer-guided tour highlighting important campus offices, such as Financial Aid and Admission, the Student Center, campus bookstore, and library. They were also able to have conversations with faculty, staff and students, and get information about a variety of college programs.

For seniors who missed the event, there are still opportunities to take campus tours and meet with counselors to begin the admissions process. To set up a tour or for more information about the college, contact 601.896.2536 or email questions@mgccc.edu.
