Retention rates represent the percentage of a school’s first-time, first-year undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Fall and continue at that school the next Fall term. Fall-to-Fall retention rates are analyzed at the institutional-level as well as at the program-level. Retention rates are directly related to the Strategic Plan 2020 core commitment, student success. Students who are not retained are less likely to complete the required coursework to earn a credential and graduate from the institution.

Target Outcome: The fall-to-fall retention rate for first-time, first-year MGCCC students will meet or exceed the retention rate of the Mississippi public community college system and national average for two-year public community colleges. Additionally, the institution aims to achieve a minimum of a 65% fall-to-fall retention rate. (Data Source: State Report Card, IPEDS)
