About the Program
The Light Duty Diesel diploma option offers students an opportunity to specialize after completing the first two semesters of the Automotive Technology program.
Degree Options and Requirements
The Light Duty Diesel program offers a diploma option (45 credit hours) and an Associate of Applied Science of Occupational Education degree program (60 credit hours). Students must complete 30 hours in Automotive Technology prior to specializing in Light Duty Diesel.
Graduates will earn a work-ready student certification through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science of Occupational Education Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.
All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
