This program builds upon our Hotel & Restaurant Management program by applying a gaming focus. We provide specialized occupational training for all phases of hotel and restaurant management to prepare students to be managers and supervisors in the casino and gaming industry.

Casino managers are responsible for the facility running smoothly. Critical positions include:

  • Special event manager
  • Manger of VIP services
  • Casino restaurant manager
  • Casino hotel manager
  • Facility management


The Hospitality and Resort Management Center, located on the Harrison County campus, is a nearly 51,000 square foot training facility for students as well as a functional convention, conference, and special events center. This state-of-the-art facility provides a hands-on learning environment for students in this program.

What Students Will Learn

The gaming management courses will focus on the unique characteristics of both the gaming and hospitality industries. These courses will allow students to learn entry-level skills relating to gaming operations and provide them with the knowledge and attitudes needed to be an effective professional in the gaming industry.

Degree Options

The gaming courses link to other programs that will lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree with a gaming concentration:  Administrative Office Technology, Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business and Marketing Management, Paralegal Technology, and Computer Networking Technology.  This degree is designed to help students seek employment in entry level or supervisory gaming positions. For those currently employed, these programs will provide professional growth and career mobility within the gaming industry.

Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete a MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
