Landon’s educational journey began as a homeschooled student, where he realized the need to obtain both his high school equivalency diploma and an associate’s degree. To achieve his goals, Landon enrolled in MGCCC’s adult education class at the Perkinston campus, taught by Tiffany Wilkes, which prepared him for the HiSet exam. Additionally, he benefited from MGCCC’s WIOA Youth Program, taught by Stacy Malone, which provided workforce training at no cost.
Through these programs, Landon gained essential workforce skills, including resume building, cover letter writing, professionalism, and teamwork. Landon’s hands-on experience also includes an internship with the city of Biloxi in computer networking, which further honed his technical skills and prepared him for the professional world.
Set to begin his new job in July, Landon is eager to contribute to the tech field at Stennis Space Center. His story highlights not only the value of following one’s passion but also the support systems available through educational and workforce programs at MGCCC.
