b'Construction Engineering Technology (Jefferson Davis Campus) The Construction Engineering Technology program is an instructional program designed to prepare technicians for employment within the construction industries and firms in mid-level management operations as estimators, material specialists, planners, project managers, layout specialists, or other construction operations. Individuals currently employed as professionals in the construction business will enhance their ability to perform their duties. Students completing the program will be prepared for jobs in supervision, estimating, layout, handling, storing, monitoring, materials, safety, leadership, and organization of construction projects. In the program, students learn about environment and workplace safety issues. Students also learn how to identify safety hazards and notify the proper authorities.Through an internship program, students have the opportunity to work in a position related to Construction Engineering Technology. This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor. All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.Construction Engineering Technology Certificate Semester One CON 1213 - Construction Materials Credit(s): 3 CON 1223 - Plans and Document Interpretation Credit(s): 3 CTE 1143 - Fundamentals of Construction and Manufacturing Credit(s): 3 DDT 1163 - Engineering Graphics Credit(s): 3 DDT 1313 - Computer Aided Design I Credit(s): 3 Semester Two CON 1113 - Survey of Modern Construction Credit(s): 3 CON 1233 - Construction Systems I Credit(s): 3 CON 2413 - Construction Safety Standards Credit(s): 3 CON 2523 - Project Management Credit(s): 3 DDT 1413 - Elementary Surveying Credit(s): 3 Total Credits: 30 Construction Engineering Technology Diploma Semester ThreeCON 2113 - Construction Jobsite Management Credit(s): 3 CON 2123 - Construction Cost Estimation Credit(s): 3 CON 2233 - Construction Systems II Credit(s): 3 CON 2313 - Construction Layout Credit(s): 3 CON 2513 - Leadership and Organization Credit(s): 3 Total Credits: 15 99'
