The Mississippi College Singers will present a concert in the Jackson County Campus Auditorium on Wednesday, October 13, at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Mississippi College Singers, directed by Dr. Jamie Meaders and assisted by pianist Carol Joy Sparkman, is a mixed-voice, auditioned ensemble that is the premier choral group of the Department of Music at Mississippi College in Clinton.

Presenting a diverse repertoire of accompanied and unaccompanied literature, the choir has performed throughout the United States, including Washington National Cathedral, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. International concert locales include England, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Austria and the Republic of South Africa.

Invitational performances include these feature concerts:

  • Mississippi Day at the Washington National Cathedral in 2003
  • Annual meeting of the Mississippi Convention of American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education in 2002, 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2014
  • 2004 ACDA Southern Division Convention, Nashville, Tennessee
  • 2008 ACDA Southern Division Convention at Kentucky Center for the Arts, Louisville, Kentucky
  • 2014 ACDA Southern Division Convention at Jacoby Hall, Jacksonville, Florida
  • 2005 ACDA National Convention at Disney Hall, Los Angeles, California
