Christen Hartley Duhé has been named the associate vice president of Institutional Advancement for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She began her career with MGCCC in 2012 as the first director of Business Development and Hospitality Resort Management Center at the Jefferson Davis Campus in Biloxi.

As the associate vice president of Institutional Advancement, Duhé will be responsible for providing leadership and support in communicating the college mission, vision and institutional priorities to internal and external constituents. She is responsible for directing all public relations and publications, including college print and electronic publications, public information, media relations, advertising and special event planning and promotion. She will also serve as the official spokesperson for the college.

Duhé is a two-time graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Journalism in 2005, and her master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism in 2011. She received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2015.

During her career, Duhé has served on multiple boards of directors and is currently the president of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi Beach Chapter and vice chair of Marketing and Communication for the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Leadership Gulf Coast Board of Trustees; Harrison County Advisory Board for The First, A National Banking Association; Harrison County Junior Leadership Advisory Board; and the American Red Cross- Biloxi Advisory Board. She is a member of Coast Young Professionals and Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport.

Duhé has received multiple state and regional awards for public relations planning and was named to the “Top 10 Under 40” Class of 2013, presented by The Sun Herald;  “Young Careerist of the Year” in 2014, presented by Lighthouse Business and Professional Women; and was inducted in the inaugural Coast Young Professionals’ Hall of Fame in 2015.
