Three Mississippi Gulf Coast teams have been named NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Honorable Mention winners for 2018-19, with two ranking in the top 10 among their sports across the country in all divisions.

Teams must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be honored. The MGCCC Athletic Department’s efforts in the classroom are overseen by Athletic Academic Advisor Julie Gallup.

The Bulldogs golf team, which finished third at the NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship in May, finished with a 3.51 GPA, fifth-best among all golf teams in all divisions.

The women’s soccer team had a 3.43 GPA, which tied for 10th. The men’s tennis team (3.01 GPA) was also honored.
