Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College opened the Goodwill Career Connection Center on its Jackson County Campus during July. This innovative center, created in collaboration with Goodwill South Mississippi, aims to provide comprehensive support and resources to individuals seeking to enhance their career opportunities.

The Goodwill Career Connection Center is set to offer a diverse range of services, designed to empower job seekers and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in the competitive job market. Among the key offerings are online training programs, personalized interview coaching, virtual reality-based job exploration tools, access to a wide array of online resources, expertly designed resumés, and essential soft-skills training.

The center’s hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, extending its accessibility to both MGCCC students and the public.

Dr. Mary S. Graham, MGCCC president, expressed her enthusiasm for this new initiative. “The Goodwill Career Connection Center on our Jackson County Campus reflects MGCCC’s commitment to fostering economic growth in our community,” she said. “This partnership with Goodwill South Mississippi aligns perfectly with our mission to provide our students and the public with the necessary tools and opportunities to excel in their career journeys.”

In addition to the comprehensive training services, the center will offer wraparound support to ensure individuals receive the guidance and assistance needed to achieve their career goals successfully.

“We are thrilled about this partnership, as it has incredible potential to help individuals in the greater Jackson County area overcome barriers keeping them from their chosen career path,” said Tripp Harrison, CEO of Goodwill South Mississippi. “This partnership will position the MGCCC Jackson County campus as a hub of career opportunity support.”

The Goodwill Career Connection Center is yet another testament to MGCCC’s dedication to empowering individuals and strengthening the workforce of the local community. With the integration of cutting-edge resources and personalized support, the center is poised to become a vital catalyst for career growth and success.
