Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College celebrated the achievements of its 2025 Lowe’s Foundation Scholarship recipients during a special gathering held December 3 at the Harrison County Campus. The event recognized students in four high-demand career and technical programs—Construction Management Technology, Electrical Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, and Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) Technology and Internet of Things (IoT) option.

A total of 68 students received scholarships for the fall semester, providing financial assistance with college expenses and essential equipment they will use in their future careers. The support is part of MGCCC’s ongoing partnership with the Lowe’s Foundation, which is committed to strengthening skilled-trades education nationwide.

Dr. Erin Riggins, vice president of the Harrison County Campus, said the celebration highlighted both student success and the power of community investment. “These scholarships open doors for our students and remove financial barriers that can stand in the way of completing high-quality training programs,” Riggins said. “We are deeply grateful to the Lowe’s Foundation for investing in our students and for helping build a stronger, more skilled workforce for Mississippi.”

Students in the participating programs will have additional opportunities to apply for the scholarship in Spring 2026, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
