Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Associate Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Strategies Dr. Zach Moulds has been elected to the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Board of Commissioners, where he will serve as Engagement Commissioner for Region 2.

Moulds’ two-year term will begin at the conclusion of NACEP’s Annual Business Meeting on December 8, 2026. He was nominated for the position during the summer, with the election taking place throughout August.

“I believe it’s important for MGCCC to have a voice at the national table in conversations that directly impact the work we do,” Moulds said. “The number of concurrently enrolled students continues to grow each year, making it increasingly important for us as an institution to understand best practices from across our region and the country and potentially implement new, creative ideas within our district.”

NACEP is a national organization focused on ensuring quality in college courses offered to high school students through concurrent enrollment partnerships. The organization has five regions nationwide, with nine members serving on its Engagement Commission.

Moulds said MGCCC’s leadership in concurrent enrollment makes participation at the national level particularly valuable.

“The college leads the state in many ways regarding concurrent enrollment, and my goal on the Commission will be to keep MGCCC connected to innovative ideas and successful approaches across higher education,” he said. “Doing so will help ensure that we continue to provide our students with the strongest possible opportunities and support.”

Moulds first attended the NACEP National Conference in fall 2025. His involvement with concurrent enrollment, however, extends well beyond his work with the organization. His doctoral dissertation focused on concurrent enrollment in Mississippi.

“The emergence of concurrent enrollment over the past 15 years has greatly impacted community colleges. You often hear it referred to as a double-edged sword in terms of costs versus benefits. My dissertation focused on concurrent enrollment in Mississippi, so I’m proud to see how my interest in the topic has come full circle in recent years.”

He added, “I hope serving on this board will help the college maximize the positive impact concurrent enrollment has on the institution going forward.”

Moulds and other MGCCC representatives will attend NACEP’s national conference October 18-20 in Cleveland, Ohio.
