Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has once again been selected by Sun Herald readers as the People’s Choice award winner for Favorite Trade/Technical School. Serving more than 25,000 residents annually, MGCCC is the state leader in workforce training and offers more than 60 career and technical programs.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen for this award again,” said Dr. Mary S. Graham, MGCCC president. “We are very proud of what we accomplish at MGCCC and that the community recognizes those accomplishments.”

Whether individuals need a high school equivalency, basic employability skills, training for a new career and/or additional training for advancement in an existing career, MGCCC offers them the opportunity to excel. Graham said that the college couldn’t do it without the help of many partners.

“It takes innovative community-wide collaboration to ensure that the citizens of South Mississippi have the best opportunities to learn and achieve their educational and training goals,” Graham said. “MGCCC partners with federal, state and local government; industry leaders; local businesses; and other educational institutions to guarantee our students and trainees have those opportunities.”

A special section in the July 27 edition of the Sun Herald will highlight People’s Choice winners. For more information about the awards, visit sunherald.com.
