Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the West Harrison County Center and BP Restore Act Programs on August 15 at the center’s location in Long Beach.  The ceremony included a tour of the facility and information about the Gulf Coast Work Ready program (GCWR).

The college renovated and upgraded facilities at the West Harrison County Center to house the Gulf Coast Work Ready programs.  Training facilities and equipment for Massage Therapy, Commercial Truck Driving and Cosmetology programs are already in place.  Additional programs will be added in spring 2019.

The Gulf Coast Work Ready program, through the BP Restore Act, includes training in both Massage Therapy and Commercial Truck Driving programs. The cosmetology program will begin this fall and, in the spring of 2019, the college will deploy the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) “Gateway” training and credentialing along with a maritime technology program.
