The Perkette Dance Team won four awards at The Universal Dance Association’s College Dance Camp held at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa July 18-21.  The dance team was the only team from Mississippi in attendance at the camp.

The Perkettes received Overall Superior, Game Day Superior; third place in Home Routine; and Most Improved Program.  The team also won a Leadership Award.

“We were proud to represent MGCCC, the Perkinston Campus and the state of Mississippi at camp this year,” said Britney Kuehn, Perkette Dance Team choreographer and dance coordinator. “All of the awards are well-deserved as the team worked very hard to prepare for camps. The team is especially proud of the Leadership Award, since all of the teams at the camp are asked to nominate and vote on other teams for leadership awards. As the only community college participant, the Perkettes are truly honored to be one of the 2019 recipients.”
