Great College To Work For Honor Roll logoMississippi Gulf Coast Community College has been recognized as a 2024 Great College to Work For, receiving the prestigious Honor Roll designation. The college was recognized in the following categories: Job Satisfaction & Support; Professional Development; Mission & Pride; Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness; Faculty & Staff Well-being; and Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.

This marks the 13th time MGCCC has been recognized as a Great College to Work For and the sixth time it has achieved Honor Roll status.

The Great Colleges to Work For program, now in its 17th year, is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. It recognizes institutions that receive outstanding employee feedback regarding workplace practices and policies. This year, MGCCC is one of only 22 community colleges in the nation to receive this honor.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this Honor Roll recognition once again,” said Dr. Mary S. Graham, MGCCC President. “This award reflects the dedication, commitment, and passion of our faculty and staff who make MGCCC an exceptional place to work and learn. Our people are the heart of our success, and this recognition affirms the positive and supportive environment we strive to foster each day.”

The recognition is based on survey results that include a two-part assessment process. An institutional questionnaire captures employment data and workplace policies, while faculty, administrators, and professional support staff are surveyed to evaluate their workplace experience. ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administers the survey and analyzes the results.

This year, 216 institutions participated in the survey, with 77 of them being community colleges. Out of 75 total institutions recognized as 2024 Great Colleges to Work For, only 42 earned Honor Roll status.

Richard K. Boyer, Chief Culture Strategist at ModernThink, said of this year’s honorees, “If you’re seeking inspiration, look no further than the 2024 Great Colleges to Work For Honor Roll institutions. Their commitment to the quality of workplace experience for their faculty and staff has been steadfast, and the spirit of resilience they’ve cultivated brings the members of these institutions together in ways that inspire confidence, community, and optimism.”
