MGCCC’s Darlene Bush Named 2025 Moody Institute Fellow
Darlene Bush, instructor of mathematics and instructional designer at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus, has been named a 2025 Moody Institute Fellow. This prestigious recognition includes a $1,000 stipend, which Bush will use to enhance instructional resources and learning experiences for both students and faculty.
Bush’s winning proposal outlines the creation of a video editing booth outfitted with professional-grade audio, visual, and editing tools. The booth will empower instructors to produce high-quality instructional videos that clearly explain complex concepts, demonstrate step-by-step problem-solving techniques, and offer students additional opportunities for review outside the classroom. Designed to support both clarity and engagement, the project aims to significantly improve the accessibility and effectiveness of teaching materials.
“I am grateful and deeply honored to receive the Moody Institute Trust Fund,” Bush said. “This generous support will allow me, and other instructors, to bring high-quality, engaging video content into the classroom, making mathematics more accessible and inspiring for all learners. I am excited and look forward to seeing the positive impact these resources will have on our students’ educational experience.”
Established in 1990 in honor of Dr. George V. Moody—the first Executive Director of the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges—the Moody Institute Trust Fund provides enrichment opportunities for faculty members at Mississippi’s public community and junior colleges. Bush joins a distinguished group of educators committed to academic innovation and excellence.
