Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College brought home five awards from the 2026 College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) Conference, held May 18-20 in Senatobia. Competing against 14 other community colleges in the Junior Division, MGCCC’s Institutional Advancement and Sports Information teams won a first-place award, three second place awards, and one third place award.  In addition, Sherri Smith, Director of Communications and Marketing, was named vice president for the 2026-27 CPRAM Board.

“These awards reflect the creativity, professionalism, and dedication of our Institutional Advancement and Sports Information teams,” said Dr. Suzi Brown. “Our staff works hard to tell the MGCCC story in meaningful and engaging ways, and it is rewarding to see their talents recognized by peers across the state.”

The CPRAM Awards recognize excellence in public relations, marketing, and communications efforts among Mississippi’s institutions of higher learning. MGCCC’s winning entries spanned multiple formats, showcasing standout achievements in print design, digital outreach, social media, broadcast journalism, and strategic marketing campaigns.
