Four students have been selected as drum majors for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Band of Gold.  They will lead the band during the 2020-2021 school year.

“We are very excited about our four drum majors and the new season for our Band of Gold,” said Jamie Standland, MGCCC director of bands.  “Last year was a very thrilling year for the entire band.  We expect this year to be even better and want everyone to plan to come see our electrifying new show led by our outstanding drum majors.”

Jacob Scott of Lucedale was selected as head drum major.  Scott, a sophomore, is a business and marketing major.  As head drum major last year, he traveled with the band to Kansas to support the football team at the national championship game.

“The Band of Gold is more than a music program,” Scott said.  “We are a family.  I am so grateful to be serving as head drum major this year and am excited to get back to making music and performing at Bulldog football games.”

Kristian Gipson, Brynn Machcoviak and Ronnie Hurley, all of Gulfport, were also selected as drum majors.  Gipson is a sophomore majoring in English Education.  Machcoviak is a sophomore majoring in veterinary medicine. Hurley is a freshman majoring in criminal justice.
