Perkinston Campus Fine Arts Department Hosts Artwork of Two Stone County Artists

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus Fine Arts Department will host the artwork of Joy Jennings and Mary Ann Long from September 19 – October 13 in the Malone Hall Gallery. An opening night event featuring the two artists will be on September 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The exhibition, “Two Views, Two Styles, Two Stone County Girls,” celebrates the two artists who have many things in common. They are both artists, former high school teachers, and were born and raised in Stone County. Yet, their styles and views of art are very different. Long works with acrylic and her still life and landscapes tend to be very realistic in style. Her subject tends to focus on everyday objects and places that surround her. Jennings works with oil and is Impressionistic in style. Her subjects tend to reflect her love of mark making, color and France.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.  For more information, contact Sandra Cassibry at 601.928.6298 or sandra.cassibry@mgccc.edu.
