MGCCC wants to be the higher education institution of choice for homeschool families in our region! The Homeschool Academy allows homeschool students to experience life as an MGCCC student before graduating from high school!
Earn College Credits Part-time at a Discounted Rate While Still a High School Homeschooled Student
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Homeschool Academy allows students to earn academic* college credit toward an Associate Degree while concurrently completing their high school homeschool curriculum. Eligible homeschool students may earn up to 15 credit hours (approximately 5 academic classes) per year at a discounted rate**
Highlights of Homeschool Academy
- Supplements a homeschool curriculum with accredited college courses that apply toward an Associate Degree at MGCCC.
- Provides access to rigorous college-level courses taught by experienced faculty.
- Offers transferable college credit at about one-third the cost of a four-year university.
- Includes unlimited, free tutoring from credentialed instructors in learning labs.
- Provides full access to libraries and online databases for college-level research.
- Supports a smooth transition to college in a flexible, supportive academic environment.
- Offers social and enrichment opportunities through student activities, clubs, organizations, wellness, and recreation programs.
*If homeschool students desire to enroll in career & technical programs at MGCCC while still in high school, they must be full-time and must enroll through our Collegiate Academy.
**If homeschool students desire to be full-time while still in high school, a discounted tuition rate is available to them via our Collegiate Academy.
What Homeschool Students and Parents Can Expect
- Curriculum customized to supplement their preferred homeschool curriculum within MGCCC dual enrollment guidelines
- College classes in a variety of formats to fit within their existing schedules
- Maintain the ability to participate in their desired homeschool groups and activities including homeschool athletics, and other extracurricular activities
How to Become Part of Homeschool Academy
Prospective Homeschool Academy student must meet all eligibility criteria for academic dual enrollment, including, but not limited to the following:
- Be classified as high school junior or senior
- Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Obtain an unconditional written recommendation from their legal guardian
Cost To Student
The costs associated with the Homeschool Academy are represented in the following table:

*Some courses require purchase books or materials not covered by the resource fee.
Payment
Payment for the Homeschool Academy shall follow standard MGCCC payment timelines and processes. If payments become delinquent, additional fees may be assessed. Costs (tuition and fees) for the Homeschool Academy will be the responsibility of the student and/or legal guardian. Students taking traditional postsecondary classes (either seated or online) in excess of 15 credit hours per year will pay tuition, fees, etc. at the full rate.
How To Get Started
- Complete the FREE online MGCCC Admissions Application
- Complete the Concurrent Enrollment Verification Form
- Submit an official homeschool transcript (must be sealed and notarized)
- Submit your ACT scores or make an appointment to take the ACCUPLACER.
- Contact your Homeschool Academy representative to register for classes!
