For Fisher White, receiving the Ralph A. Hargrove Scholarship through the MGCCC Foundation is both an honor and a meaningful step forward in shaping his future.

A student at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Fisher has long been drawn to creating, building, and imagining what’s possible. Those interests, sparked early in life through hands-on experiences and exploration, have grown into a strong passion for engineering and technical fields.

“This scholarship has brought this field of engineering to the surface for me,” Fisher shared. “I grew up with a love for creating things and using my imagination to the fullest. Having the opportunity to experience different things growing up sparked major interests in college, and specifically in some different fields within engineering.”

Foundation scholarships play a vital role in helping MGCCC students like Fisher pursue their goals with greater confidence and focus. By easing the financial burden of college, these scholarships allow students to explore academic interests, gain practical experience, and plan thoughtfully for the future.

“My goal for the future is to get my degree in December, then join a field to get real hands-on experience and training to then further my education in a specific area,” Fisher said.

He is deeply grateful for the support made possible by the MGCCC Foundation and the generosity of the donors who invest in student success.
