Financial Information for MGCCC Students
All You Can Learn – Summer Tuition Discount
In-state students pay tuition for only ONE three-hour class; tuition for all other classes will be waived for the summer 2023 term. Students are responsible for all fees associated with their courses. Please note there will be no refunds for institutional scholarships and no refund of tuition or fees for classes that have begun.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is one of the best values in education anywhere! That’s because we offer world-class instruction and quality in every aspect of college life, yet we keep tuition affordable.
Tuition and fees are the same at our campuses and comprehensive centers. At Perkinston (the only campus with Residence Halls), our residence hall students also pay the costs of room and board.
Expenses will vary according to the legal residence of the applying student. For the purpose of determining expenses, students should refer to the section Summary of Expenses listed below. Prospective students should remember that there are a number of nominal miscellaneous fees that may be charged.

Students enrolled in more than 15 credit hours in summer semesters will be charged a per-credit hour fee of $165 per credit hour for all credit hours above 15 hours.
** Out-of-state students enrolled in more than 15 credit hours in the summer semester will be charged a per-credit hour fee of $165 per credit hour for all credit hours above the 15 hours.

† In addition to the resource fee mentioned above, some courses require students to purchase their textbooks and/or other instructional materials . Students may contact the campus bookstore prior to registration to determine required purchases.
‡ Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC) offers online away courses for MGCCC students. Each MSVCC course using Digital Course Content (Inclusive Access) will assess an additional $25.00 per credit hour to students.
§ Students enrolled in Technical and Career courses will be charged a per credit hour fee based on Program of Study.
Tuition may be refunded; however, all other fees are non-refundable.
The MGCCC Board of Trustees reserves the right to adjust any and all fees as it deems necessary.

Room and Board Combined Costs Per Semester
All residence hall students are required to purchase a meal plan. Athletes will be assigned a designated meal plan by the Office of Residence Life.

Full-Time Students
If a full-time student reduces his or her class-load to less than fifteen (15) hours of classes during the refund period, the student becomes subject to the tuition rate of $180.00 per semester hour for the 2024-2025 academic year.
A residence hall student who falls below twelve (12) hours must move out of the residence hall and continue his/her studies as a commuter student unless his/her remaining in the residence hall is approved by the Vice President.
Out-of-State Students
Out-of-state residents who are enrolled full-time must pay an additional fee of $500.00 each semester that is non-refundable during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Out-of-state residents who are enrolled part-time must pay an additional, non-refundable tuition fee of $50.00 per semester hour for the 2024-2025 academic year.
International Students
International students who are enrolled in 15-21 hours must pay an additional fee of $1,800.00 each semester that is non-refundable for the 2024-2025 academic year.
International students will also be assessed a one-time application fee of $250.00 and a $100 administrative fee each semester. International students are not permitted to fall below 12 hours during the fall or spring semesters.
Tuition
Tuition entitles a student to the following:
- To attend MGCCC Athletic events without charge.
- To attend lyceum programs.
- To receive private music lessons and use instruments and practice facilities required in his/her curriculum.
- To participate in other student activities supported by these fees.
Room & Board
All residence hall students are required to purchase a meal plan. Students may choose to follow either a 5-day or a 7-day meal plan. 5-Day Meal Plan: Students electing this plan will be served meals from Sunday dinner through Friday lunch. Students on the 5-day meal plan may utilize the cafeteria services on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday through lunch but must pay on a per meal basis. 7-Day Meal Plan: Students electing this plan are entitled to meals from Sunday through Saturday. Residence hall fees are non-refundable.
Registration
Registration helps defray costs of increased security personnel and motor vehicle registration permits. All credit students pay this non-refundable fee to cover the cost of processing registration.
Resource Fee
Students will pay a Resource Fee of $15.00 per credit hour, which allows the student to utilize textbooks on book service, as well as certain digital resources. Workbooks and dated material that cannot be reissued must be purchased separately by students. NOTE: Students will be charged the Resource Fee whether or not they choose to use the resources provided by the college.
Technology Fee
The MGCCC Technology Fee helps defray the cost of replacing and upgrading on-campus technology equipment and services. This fee is non-refundable.
Online Course Fee
Students will be assessed an additional fee of $15 per credit hour for online courses for the 2023-2024 academic year. This fee is non-refundable. This fee will no longer be assessed for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Out-of-State Tuition
Out-of-State tuition helps pay instructional, administrative, and other operational expenses of the college. This fee is non-refundable.
Deferred Fee Payment Delinquent Charge
Payments must be made by the scheduled due dates or a $40 late fee will be assessed and the student’s account will be placed on hold.
