Great College to Work For Honor Roll logo for 2025Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is celebrating a major honor after once again being named one of the nation’s best colleges to work for in the 2025 Great Colleges to Work For® program. The college not only earned the designation but also secured a spot on the exclusive Honor Roll—placing MGCCC among the top institutions in the country recognized for outstanding workplace culture.

This marks the 14th time MGCCC has received the Great College to Work For® recognition and the 7th time it has been named to the Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 42 colleges nationwide that excel across multiple recognition categories.

Survey results, released today at GreatCollegesList.com and in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on responses from faculty, administrators, and professional staff at 199 colleges and universities across the nation. Of those, 76 institutions were honored.

This year, MGCCC earned recognition in six categories:

  • Job Satisfaction & Support
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Professional Development
  • Mission & Pride
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership

“Our employees are the heart of everything we do at Gulf Coast,” said Dr. Mary S. Graham, MGCCC president. “This recognition is a celebration of their passion, dedication, and commitment to student success. While national awards are always exciting, the greatest achievement is creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and proud to be part of our mission.”

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition initiatives in higher education. The results are determined through a two-part assessment: an institution questionnaire that highlights workplace policies and practices, and a faculty and staff survey, with employee feedback serving as the most important factor.

The program is administered by ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm.
