Application for New Incoming Residents

Fall

The application for incoming Fall students opens in mid-February. Please refer to the academic calendar for specific dates.

Spring

The application for incoming Spring students opens in mid-October. Please refer to the academic calendar for specific dates.

There is no housing available for the summer term.

Room Reclaim for Current Residents

Fall

Room reclaim for current Fall students that wish to return for the Spring semester begins in early November. Students must be registered for 12 (9 seated) credit hours at least 24 hours prior to reclaiming and be in good standing.

Spring

Room reclaim for current Spring students that wish to return for the Fall semester begins in early April. Students must be registered for 12 (9 seated) credit hours at least 24 hours prior to reclaiming and be in good standing.

There is no housing available for the summer term.

Room Changes or Roommate Requests

Incoming students will only be able to pick a room or roommate on a first-come, first-served basis. It is important that a student wishing to reside on campus to secure an available room, and note the process of changes below. We cannot guarantee a specific assignment or roommate preference.

Residents wishing to facilitate a room change or roommate request for the upcoming semester will receive an email with a form for request. Residents will be notified through email if their request is approved or denied. There should be no changes done by residents without permission from the Housing Office.

Fall 2026 – July

Spring 2027 – November

Fall 2027 – April

Check-In Day

Fall 2026

Check-In Day for the fall semester is August 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students will need to sign up for a specific appointment time through the link sent to their student email

Spring 2027

Mandatory residence hall check in for students with housing assignments for the spring semester is January 11, 2027 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

If you are running late, please contact the Office of Residence Life by emailing housing@mgccc.edu to let us know that you are still coming and the time you will be able to claim your room.

Closures

The residence halls will close at 3:00 p.m. and will re-open at 3:00 p.m. on these dates unless otherwise indicated. Please make plans to stay elsewhere during these dates. There will be no exceptions.

Thanksgiving Holidays

11-20-26 through 11-29-26 (Friday – Sunday)

Christmas Holidays

12-10-2026 through 01-11-27 (Thursday – Tuesday)
Residence Halls re-open at 10:00 a.m. on 1-11-27

Spring Break

03-12-27 through 03-21-27 (Friday – Sunday)
