Programs

  • Certified Nursing Assistant

    This Mississippi State-approved hybrid non-credit healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Mississippi. Upon successful completion of the program and the exam, the graduate is eligible for employment opportunities with various healthcare agencies, i.e. nursing homes, home health providers and community clinics.

  • CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Blended Training

    The Basic Life Support (BLS) Providers Blended non-credit Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and treat choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This class meets the requirement of most healthcare facilities and other employers that require cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a condition of employment in the healthcare field. Student must be 16 years of age to take this course, be physically able to perform CPR, have access to a computer, and be able to read and write for successful completion of this course.

  • Dialysis Technician

    This 130-hour non-credit course is designed to prepare individuals with the theoretical, technical, and clinical skills needed to maintain equipment and provide patient care to those being treated for chronic renal (kidney) diseases in hospitals, clinics, and renal dialysis facilities. Class format includes lecture, lab, and the required clinical. After one year of work experience, students may sit for the national certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician.

  • ECG/EKG Technician

    This 48-hour non-credit hybrid healthcare program will prepare you to become an ECG technician, which involves monitoring and recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. The course prepares applicants to sit for certification through the National Center for Competency Testing for ECG Technicians (NCET), which is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). This course includes important practice and background information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography, and stress testing.

  • Pharmacy Technician

    This non-credit 140-hour hybrid healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is eligible for employment opportunities with various healthcare agencies. This program will prepare students for entry-level pharmacy technician positions by teaching medical and pharmaceutical terminology, basic anatomy related to the pharmacology of medications and pharmaceutical calculations. Pharmacy technicians assist licensed pharmacists by preparing prescriptions, ordering supplies, maintaining patient records, billing, mixing medications as directed by a board-certified pharmacist.

  • Phlebotomy Technician

    This hybrid 100-hour non-credit healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for certification through the National Center for Competency Testing for Phlebotomy (NCPT) which is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is eligible for employment opportunities with various healthcare agencies. The phlebotomist’s primary function is to assist the healthcare team in accurate, safe, reliable collection and transportation of specimens for clinical laboratory testing.
