Her commitment to service extends beyond her daily work. LeeQunita is also a proud donor to the MGCCC Foundation, giving back to help students overcome the kinds of challenges she sees every day.

“I know what it feels like when money gets tight,” she said. “Sometimes even a small amount of help can lift a heavy weight off someone’s shoulders.” That personal understanding is what first inspired her to give and what motivates her to continue.

LeeQunita says the college’s own culture of generosity has shaped her outlook. “MGCCC leads by example,” she explained. “This college gives to the community, to its students, and to its employees. Seeing that every day encouraged me to become part of that same spirit of giving.”

For her, employee giving is not just helpful; it is essential. “When employees support the Foundation,” she said, “we’re showing that we believe in our students and in the mission of the college.” She views every contribution as a seed that grows far beyond the moment it’s given.

She said she sees the impact of those seeds most clearly at graduation, where the joy on a student’s face reminds her that even small acts of support can play a part in life-changing accomplishments. She especially treasures the gratitude expressed by military-connected students who tell her, “I couldn’t have done this without the help I received.”

To LeeQunita education is “like transportation because it carries you closer to your purpose.” By donating, she feels she is helping fuel the journeys of students who might otherwise struggle to reach their destination.

Her advice to colleagues considering their first gift is simple and heartfelt: “Start with what’s on your heart. Every contribution, no matter the size, becomes part of a student’s story and part of a legacy of generosity that defines what we do at MGCCC.”
