Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology is an instructional program that prepares individuals to work in engineering
departments or private firms installing, maintaining, and operating small or medium air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems.

Career Opportunities

Instruction prepares individuals to work in a commercial organization performing special tasks relating to designing duct work, assembly, installation, servicing, operation, and maintenance of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems according to the standards of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and the Air Conditioning Engineers Inc. and Air Conditioning Refrigeration Institute (ARI).

Included are air-conditioning, heating, and refrigeration devices; equipment, techniques, and systems; and maintenance and operation of these systems.

Degree Options and Requirements

This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor.

All students completing a career or technical program must complete a MGCCC Board-approved Technical Skills Attainment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
