Auditions
Auditions are open for all students currently enrolled at MGCCC and scholarship funds are available. Students must be prepared for a 10-minute, one-on-one audition. Please come by Mr. Griswold’s office, D21, to discuss joining choir today.
If you are a prospective student looking to enroll in Fall 2025, please sign up for a scholarship audition below. All students are guaranteed scholarship money of at least 50% tuition if they audition. Our Spring 2025 Scholarship Audition date has been set for Monday, April 21st from 2:00-5:00 PM. If this day and time do not work for you, please email Mr. Griswold to make separate arrangements and guarantee your opportunity for a scholarship. Students interested in singing in Cside, HC’s contemporary a cappella ensemble, must attend this audition day in person. Once you have signed up for auditions, Mr. Griswold will email you with more information.
All students should read through the following Audition Guidelines for Fall 2025 Prospective Students document. It contains all of the information and links you will need for Concert Choir and Cside A Cappella auditions. Please email Mr. Griswold if you have any questions. All auditions require some kind of preparation beforehand so we encourage you to start working on your auditions as soon as possible.
Audition For Harrison County Campus Choir
Scholarships
Students in the A Cappella Ensemble will receive approximately a 75 percent tuition scholarship. To qualify for the scholarship, they must also participate in the Harrison County Concert Choir. Students who participate in Concert Choir only will also receive at minimum a 25% tuition scholarship.
Open Rehearsal Days
Open Rehearsal Days are great opportunities for prospective junior and senior students to come and see what Choir is all about at Harrison County. During the day you will have the opportunity to sit in on some music courses, observe Cside A Cappella’s rehearsal, meet HC Choir students and ask questions, as well as sit in on a Concert Choir rehearsal. Lunch will be provided and school excused absence forms will be available. Registration is required. Please check back in August for information about Open Rehearsal Days for the 25-26 school year.

Concert Choir
Concert Choir is a mixed ensemble open to all students on the Harrison County campus. The choir meets Monday-Thursday from 1:00-1:53 and performs mostly traditional repertoire at the major choir concerts throughout the year (Fall, Winter, Spring). This year Concert Choir will be performing alongside the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, the Hattiesburg Choral Union, and the Gulf Coast Civic Chorale in a monumental performance of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
Cside A Cappella
Cside is the Contemporary A Cappella ensemble on the Harrison County campus. This ensemble is a smaller group that performs a variety of contemporary repertoire including pop, rock, R&B, and more. The group frequently performs on campus for events like Bulldog Day and Veterans Day, and off campus at a variety of places in the community, including retirement homes, parades, corporate parties, festivals, and other showcase events.
