Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College held its 2022 Homecoming Day celebration on October 15 at the Perkinston Campus. During the day’s festivities, Homecoming Royalty from each campus were introduced and Homecoming Queens were announced.  Royalty included the following:

BRYLLE RAVEN PRINCE

2022 Homecoming Queen

Brylee is the daughter of Randy and Breanne Prince of Biloxi.  She is a 2021 graduate of D’Iberville High School and an industrial engineering major.  She is president of the Reflections Team, a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Campus Activities Board, and a work-study student.  She serves as the campus photographer.  She was chosen for the MGCCC Hall of Fame and Who’s Who Among Students and is a member of the Honors College.

RACHEL VIVIAN

Sophomore Royalty

Rachel is from Gulfport and is the daughter of Glen Robert and Aimee Vivian.  A 2021 graduate of Gulfport High School, she is majoring in business administration.  She is president of the Student Government Association, co-president of the campus Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and Public Relations and Communications officer for the Reflections Team.  She is a member of the Honors College and Campus Activities Board and is a college student worker as part of the Work for College Scholarship program.

JANYA ERIANNA BURNETT

Sophomore Royalty

JaNya is from Brookhaven and is the daughter of Joronda and Dedric Banks and Eric Burnett.  She is a member of Collegiate Academy and will be a 2023 graduate of D’Iberville High School.  After graduating, she plans to major in nursing and join the U.S. Air Force.  She is a member of the Concurrent Enrollment Leadership Organization (CELO) and the American Sign Language Organization (ASLO).

KATELYN DANIELLE MOBLEY

Freshman Royalty

Katelyn is the daughter of Anthony and Stephanie Mobley of Ocean Springs.  Homeschooled, she is a 2022 graduate.  Her major is Live Entertainment Technology.  She is vice president of the Campus Activities Board and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

KARIGEN LANAE LUSICH

Freshman Royalty

Karigen is the daughter of Natasha Ashley and Xavier Lewis of Pass Christian.  She is a 2022 graduate of Pass Christian High School.  After graduation, she plans to study to be a dental hygienist.

2022 Homecoming Queen

Austin is from Vancleave and is a 2021 graduate of Vancleave High School.  She is the daughter of Faith and C.C. Morales.  A nursing major, she is event coordinator for the Reflections Team, Student Government Association vice president, is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Campus Activities Board and was elected Freshman Class Favorite.

CARMYN MILLER

Sophomore Royalty

From Pascagoula, Carmyn is the daughter of Brook and Brock Ingram and April and Brad Miller.  A 2021 graduate of Pascagoula High School, she is a pre-med/biology major.  She is Reflections Team secretary, Student Government Association treasurer, and director of Communications and Public Relations for the campus Phi Theta Kappa chapter.  She is a member of Circle K International, Honors College, the Reflections Team, Student Government Association, and Phi Theta Kappa.

JA’KAYLEE I’YANA MINOR

Ja’Kaylee is from Pascagoula and is the daughter of Jaqualia Minor-Peters, David Peters, and Lee Booth.  A member of Collegiate Academy, she will graduate from Pascagoula High School in 2023.  She is majoring in business management and marketing. She is Public Relations coordinator for the Campus Activities Board and is a member of Circle K International, Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the Concurrent Enrollment Leadership Organization (CELO).

ALYSSA DUNNAWAY

Freshman Royalty

Alyssa is from Ocean Springs and is the daughter of Sara and Phillip Brent Dunnaway.  She is a 2022 graduate of Ocean Springs High School.  An elementary education major, she is a member of the Student Government Association, OAK Club, and Circle K International and is on the Public Relations Committee for the Campus Activities Board.

BRELAND DALEE GRAVES

Freshman Royalty

From Hurley, Breland is the daughter of Misty McCoy, Derek McCoy, and David Graves.  She is a 2022 graduate of East Central High School.  She is majoring in special education and is Freshman Class President and a member of the Reflections Team, Student Government Association, Campus Activities Board, OAK Club, Circle K International and the Honors College.

ALEX DAWSON

2022 Homecoming Queen

Alex is from Vicksburg and is a 2021 graduate of Warren Central High School. She is the daughter of Amanda Stubbs and Eric Lawson. She is involved with cheerleading, choir, and Phi Theta Kappa.  She serves as the Mississippi/Louisiana regional secretary for PTK. Her honors include achieving the Remarkable Future Scholars distinction. After graduating from MGCCC, she plans to major in exercise science and then attend medical school.

JALEN THOMAS

Sophomore Royalty

Jalen is from Ocean Springs and is a 2021 graduate from Ocean Springs High School. Her parents are Kevin Thomas and Quinta Thomas. She is currently in Phi Theta Kappa and plans to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing so she can become a travel labor and delivery nurse.

BRANDON MERWIN

Sophomore Royalty

Brandon is from Kiln and is a 2021 graduate from Hancock High School.  He is the son of Paul and Teresa Merwin. He is currently a residence hall advisor for Canizaro Hall and is in the Catholic Student Association. Brandon plans to study elementary education after graduating from MGCCC.

JAYCIE TUNGETT

Freshman Royalty

Jaycie is from Leakesville and her parents are Steven and Amy Tungett. She is a 2022 graduate from Greene County High School. Jaycie is currently a member of the Perkette Dance Team, Student Government Association, and Baptist Student Union. She won Miss Fairpark 2023 with the Miss Mississippi organization. Her plans after MGCCC are to transfer to a university and finish her degree in marketing and public relations.

CHELSEA SULLIVAN

Freshman Royalty

Chelsea is from Hot Coffee and is the daughter of Charlotte Sullivan.  A 2021 graduate from Seminary High School, she is currently in the Band of Gold and a team leader in the Dog Pound and is a member of Student Government Association, Baptist Student Union, the Campus Activities Board, and the Barn. After MGCCC, she plans to pursue a career in veterinary science.
