At TSU, Ja’Kaylee is a student at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business. Her academic achievement and leadership skills have not gone unnoticed, earning her a feature on TSU’s social media platforms, which showcase her achievements and journey since graduating from MGCCC and Pascagoula High School.

Ja’Kaylee is not only excelling academically but also gaining valuable real-world experience working as both a real estate agent intern with the Rolls Royce Luxury Living Team and as a recruiter and assistant at a human resources firm.

Ja’Kaylee aspires to earn an MBA and a Juris Doctorate, aiming to build a career as a corporate and real estate attorney. She was recently selected to represent Texas Southern University in the University of Houston Law Center Pre-Law Pipeline Scholar Summer Program.

High School, College, and Community Involvement

During high school, Ja’Kaylee was a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Student Council, and PAWS Leadership Ren Crew and served as the secretary of her class. She was also a three-year varsity cheerleader at Pascagoula High. Her commitment to community service was evident through her involvement with the Pascagoula Mayor’s Youth Council and The Mississippi Department of Education Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. At MGCCC, she was involved in the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Circle K International Club, Concurrent Enrollment Leadership Organization (CELO), and she graduated with honors.

Ja’Kaylee’s leadership and academic excellence have earned her numerous accolades. She was chosen to serve on the MGCCC Jackson County Campus Homecoming Court in 2022-23. In addition, she was crowned Miss Mississippi HBCU Teen, placing fourth runner-up at the national competition. Winning the HBCU crown brought her recognition and scholarship funds to further her education.

Ja’Kaylee exemplifies the excellence fostered by the academic communities of Pascagoula High School, MGCCC, and TSU. As she continues to represent her alma maters, Ja’Kaylee’s future shines brightly with promise and potential.
