Through a collaborative partnership with the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, MGCCC evaluates academic transfer data from the eight public universities in the state of Mississippi. The data collected compares the performance of transfer students to other community/junior college (CJC) transfer students and “native” university students throughout the state. The dependent variable, student grade point average (GPA), is derived from the grades data that was submitted on behalf of the eight Mississippi public universities to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.

Target Outcome: The cumulative grade point average (GPA) from MGCCC students will exceed the GPA earned by native university students in the MS public university system (GPA based on 4.0 scale).  (Data Source: IHL)

Results:

Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning – Office of Strategic Research. GPA at Graduation – Students with 30 or more transfer hours.
