Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will hold the “Oh, the Places You Can Go” Career Summit at the Harrison County Campus on March 11, 2022, where nontraditional careers in transportation pathways will be presented. Hands-on activities and speakers will provide details for attendees.

Transportation career fields are mostly under-represented by women, as they comprise less than 6 percent regionally and 12 percent nationally of employees in the transportation industry. The summit will provide high school students with information in these fields and encourage them to consider these high-demand, high-paying jobs.

In the past few years, MGCCC has implemented a variety of transportation industry programs, such as Automotive Technology, Automotive Light Duty Diesel Technology, Auto Collision Repair Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology, Heavy Equipment Operation Technology, Maritime MultiCraft Technology and Commercial Truck Driving to meet industry demands. For more information on those programs, visit mgccc.edu/transportation.
