Courtney Fairley portrait

As a freshman, Fairley quickly established herself as a leading hitter, batting .402 with 12 doubles and numerous multi-hit games. Her contributions were crucial in several important games, such as the March 27 sweep of Copiah-Lincoln, where she doubled in the first game and delivered a two-run triple in the second, helping secure a 10-inning victory. Her performance on the field was just as impressive, throwing out three runners in the nightcap.

In her sophomore season, Fairley continued to excel, batting .359 after moving to shortstop. On March 26, she hit for the cycle in an 11-1 win over Pearl River, driving in five runs. Her leadership helped Gulf Coast clinch the MACJC South title, their first since 2007. Fairley’s defensive skills earned her the Bulldogs’ Best Defensive Player award, and she was named to the All-Region 23 team.

Fairley was also a standout on the Gulf Coast women’s soccer team, earning All-MACJC honors twice and being named the team’s MVP both years.

After her time at Gulf Coast, Fairley continued her softball career at Belhaven, where she led the team in hitting and earned multiple conference honors. She transitioned into coaching, serving as a graduate assistant before being promoted to assistant coach. She helped guide the Blazers to an NCCAA World Series appearance and an NCAA Division III tournament berth in 2024.
