Originally from Moss Point, she chose MGCCC not only for its academic programs but also for the outstanding facilities and resources the college offered. “My favorite part about MGCCC was the amenities,” she recalls. “I loved the pool, the gym, the tennis court, the learning lab, the library, and so much more.”
While attending MGCCC, Shardae was part of the PTECH Club but was limited in on-campus activities by her fulltime job at AT&T. Balancing the demands of school and a job was tough but she adjusted to her new schedule with the help of instructors and friends. One of the toughest challenges she faced was missing the daily camaraderie of friends, who she only got to see occasionally, but she persevered.
Her advice to current students is to use the resources offered on campus. “The college offers so much help to students. They have tutors and teachers who will spend extra time to ensure students are living up to their full potential.”
Her story highlights the support and opportunities available at MGCCC. She said the programs and facilities on campus and the encouragement from faculty and staff played a pivotal role in helping her achieve her goals.
We celebrate Shardae’s achievements and wish her continued success in her career at Chevron and beyond!
