In the 2018-2019 season, Nicholson helped lead MGCCC to a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II Championship, marking the seventh consecutive year the Bulldogs finished in the top four nationally. His consistent play contributed to the team’s success throughout the season, highlighted by his standout finishes in tournaments such as the MACJC Event #2 at Amory, where he shot a 3-under-par to secure a top-three finish.

After his time at MGCCC, Nicholson transferred to Loyola University New Orleans, where he continued to excel on the golf course. He earned NAIA All-American Third Team honors during the 2020-2021 season and was consistently ranked among the top collegiate golfers in the country. Nicholson claimed multiple top-five finishes, including a first-place win at the Carey Collegiate Classic, where he carded impressive rounds of 68 and 71.
