Three of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapters earned awards at the 2025 PTK Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Awards Gala, held March 6-7 at the University of Mississippi. These honors recognize the outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and service contributions of PTK members and advisors in the two states.

Gamma Nu Chapter (Perkinston Campus)

The Gamma Nu Chapter was honored with multiple individual and chapter awards, showcasing its commitment to student achievement and leadership:

Pi Epsilon Chapter (Jackson County Campus)

The Pi Epsilon Chapter demonstrated remarkable growth and achievement, receiving regional recognition for its projects and leadership:

• $1,000 Mellon Foundation Grant for Honors in Action
• Five-Star Chapter Status
• 2025 MS/LA Southern Regional Representative – Elected by regional vote
• 12 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars
• Horizon Advisor Awards – Karen Scott & Sydney Fletcher
• 2025 Honors in Action Theme 6 Award
• 2024 Reach Rewards Chapter – 41 percent membership growth

Omicron Alpha Chapter (Harrison County Campus)

The Omicron Alpha Chapter upheld its five-star status and ranked 2nd in the entire region, demonstrating excellence in scholarship and service:
