The Reflections Team Scholarship has been a game-changer for Caleb, covering his tuition and residence hall fees. It’s also connected him to the Reflections Team, where he serves as a student ambassador. Caleb gives campus tours to prospective students, sharing his experiences and helping them envision their futures at MGCCC.
“Giving tours is one of my favorite things,” Caleb said. “I love talking with high schoolers and showing them around. Their excitement about college life and the residence halls is contagious, and it’s awesome to feel like I’m helping them take the next step.”
The New Century Skills Scholarship has also played a big role in Caleb’s college journey. This scholarship, awarded based on his performance in a high school career tech program, has supported him for two years.
“This scholarship really motivates me to keep going,” Caleb said. “It reminds me that all the work I put in during high school was worth it, and it’s helping me reach my goal of becoming a nurse.”
In addition to his academics, Caleb is active in several organizations on campus. He’s the executive secretary of the Campus Activities Board, where he helps plan events to keep students engaged and connected. He’s also the executive vice president of the Student Government Association, working with others to address student concerns and bring fresh ideas to life.
Looking back on his first year at MGCCC, Caleb says it’s been more than he ever expected. “At first, I wasn’t even sure I’d go to college,” he admitted. “But I came here with a few friends, made even more, and now I feel like I’m part of this big family. Whether I’m studying in the library or hanging out in Denson Hall, I always feel like I belong.”
Caleb’s story is a great example of how scholarships and campus involvement can shape a college experience. Through his hard work, leadership, and positive attitude, he’s making an impact on his campus, future students, and setting the stage for a bright future.
