Dual Credit
Students enrolled in dual credit courses take college classes at their high school. There are limited offerings each semester.
Program Requirements
To enroll in the Dual Credit program, students must meet the following requirements:
Academic
- Students must be classified as a high school junior or senior.
- Students must have a minimum unweighted high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Career & Technical (CTE)
- Students must be classified as a high school sophomore, junior, or senior.
- Student must have a minimum 2.0 unweighted grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 grading scale.
In accordance with Mississippi Department of Education guidelines, students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in their MGCCC coursework to remain eligible for concurrent enrollment courses.
How To Enroll
To enroll in the dual credit program at your high school, you must speak with your high school counselor. Your high school counselor will assist you in submitting the necessary documentation required to confirm your eligibility for dual credit. They will guide you through each step of the process to ensure all requirements are met for dual credit enrollment. If you are enrolling in academic courses that have minimum ACT requirements, be sure to submit your ACT or Accuplacer scores as well.

The cost of dual credit courses includes books (digital or physical) provided by MGCCC. Students who receive a physical, hard-copy book are responsible for returning these books to the bookstore by the published return date. A late fee will be assessed for any dual credit books returned after the deadline.
