Dual enrollment allows students to earn college credit while still in high school. Students enrolled in dual enrollment courses take these courses online or at an MGCCC campus/center location. The full MGCCC course schedule is offered and available to these students.

To enroll in DE courses, please contact a Concurrent Enrollment Specialist or an Enrollment Services Center on the campus you wish to attend.

Program Requirements

To enroll in the Dual Enrollment program, students must meet the following requirements:

Academic

  • Students must be classified as a high school junior or senior.
  • Students must have a minimum unweighted high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Career & Technical (CTE)

  • Students must be classified as a high school sophomore, junior, or senior.
  • Student must have a minimum 2.0 unweighted grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 grading scale.

In accordance with Mississippi Department of Education guidelines, students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in their MGCCC coursework to remain eligible for concurrent enrollment courses.

How To Enroll

The Concurrent Enrollment Specialist or the Enrollment Services Center at the campus you wish to attend, along with your high school counselor, will help you get enrolled in dual enrollment classes at MGCCC. Your high school counselor will also assist you in submitting the necessary documentation required to confirm your eligibility for dual enrollment. Follow the steps below for dual enrollment:

  • Submit the Concurrent Enrollment Verification Form signed by their high school counselor stating that the student has met the requirements for dual enrollment.
  • Provide an official high school transcript indicating grades through the last semester of attendance.
  • Students in academic courses with minimum ACT requirements will need to submit their ACT or Accuplacer scores.

Cost of Attendance

MGCCC’s standard tuition and fees apply to these courses.

The cost structure for dual enrollment classes at MGCCC or online is the same as regular classes, including any applicable tuition rates, registration fees, and other associated expenses.
