Interpreting in Special Situations

This is a preparation course for students to explore various interpreting settings and career options. The student will learn about educational, legal, medical, religious, platform, Deaf/Blind, mental health, as well as other settings that interpreters find employment. Students will learn to assess job requirements, roles, and standard practices used in these various settings. Students will be introduced to the Demand Control Schema, learn to analyze conflicts, and apply ethical solutions. (3,3,0)
