About the MGCCC Workforce Development Program

MGCCC’s Workforce Development was developed through the Workforce and Education Act of 1994 and the Mississippi Comprehensive Workforce Training and Education Act of 2004. This legislation mandates that workforce education program commitments be based on economic impact and training requirements, with a funding amount determined by specific company needs.

Our workforce training programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of business and industry by offering flexible, high-impact education solutions. Training can be delivered on campus at the college or on-site at the employer’s facility, depending on the needs and preferences of the organization. Training services include pre-employment training, new hire training, incumbent worker training, and upskilling/reskilling. Program areas cover a wide range of needs, from technical skills training in industry-specific instruction in manufacturing, healthcare, and IT to leadership and supervision programs designed to develop effective team leaders and managers.

The goal of workforce development is to ensure delivery of demand-driven, responsive training and development to employers.
