On August 18, the Executive Council approved the four-phase, research-based approach to selecting a QEP topic. In each phase of the plan, the committee focused on maximizing input from all of the college’s stakeholders. Therefore, MGCCC’s ongoing, comprehensive planning and evaluation processes led to the identification of the topic in two ways. First, the approach was part of a normal submission process for innovative ideas – the Innovators Awards. Second, through this approach the college’s planning guided the discussion and institutional data informed and distilled the topics.
Phase 1: Call for Topics
August 18, 2017 – September 15, 2017
- Use a questionnaire to survey all MGCCC stakeholders (faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners), including communication sessions to encourage participation.
- Narrow down topics to top 10 based upon maximum frequencies from survey.
- If there are topics not included that assessment data reports is valuable, the committee can add if data supports the addition.
- Website – We will need a place to house all of QEP topic selection information for stakeholders to view. This is an immediate need for the next several years.
- College president sends an initial email with details of QEP and topic selection to stakeholders.
- A survey link is sent by email.
- Messaging is tailored to four audiences:
