Board of Trustees
An independent, locally autonomous Board of Trustees governs the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College District. The Board of Trustees is the policy-making body of the Institution. It determines the current and future direction of the organization and allocates the resources to accomplish the goals of the Institution. The charge of the board is to manage and direct the all things necessary to the successful operation of the District.
The Board of Trustees consists of 23 members. Twenty-two members are appointed by the county supervisors, and one member is appointed by the Board of Trustees. Representation from the four supporting counties is as follows: Harrison County (eight members), Jackson County (eight members), George County (three members), and Stone County (three members).
