Scholarship Appeal Process
New Century Skills scholarships are awarded to eligible students for up to four semesters. The scholarship amount is equally divided between the fall and spring semesters (with a summer semester option upon request). Students must maintain continuous enrollment of 15 or more credit hours and maintain the minimum required GPA as specified in the scholarship guidelines. Enrollment and GPA are reviewed at the end of each semester. Students are placed on probation during the first semester they fail to meet scholarship requirements. This probationary period is granted to allow the student time to regain eligibility. If the student does not regain eligibility within the probationary period, the scholarship is revoked.
All students have the right to appeal their scholarship status. Exceptions may be considered in cases of mitigating circumstances such as a death in the immediate family, personal injury, illness, etc. To appeal the loss of a scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Appeal Form and provide supporting documentation. Incomplete forms or forms submitted without supporting documentation will be denied. If you need assistance with submission of your appeal form, please visit an Enrollment Services Center convenient to you.
Scholarship appeals are reviewed by the Dean of Student Services and must be submitted within the probationary semester or within the first month after the scholarship is revoked. For Fall semester appeals, the deadline for submission is August 31st, for Spring semester appeals, the deadline is January 31st, and for Summer semester appeals, the deadline is June 30th.
