This NO COST* training program for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Helpdesk Tier 1 Support is offered in partnership with Geo Jobe and AccelerateMS. Classes begin July 14, 2022.

About the Program

The GIS Tier 1 Help Desk Support non-credit training program is a 6 to 8-week online program. Participants receive specialized instruction in certification areas required by the industry to provide Tier 1 support for GIS software and applications. Upon completion, participants are prepared for an entry-level position as Tier 1 GIS Help Desk Support personnel. Participation in and completion of the program does not guarantee participants a job with GEO Jobe or other information technology industry.

The curriculum focuses on basic GIS concepts, entry-level mapping, visualization, and analysis along with use and management of ArcGIS Online to prepare for entry-level GIS help desk support or GIS Technician.

  • 18 years of age
  • High school or high school equivalency transcript
  • Mississippi resident
  • Typed, three-paragraph essay describing your motivation for participation in this training program and how this training will help meet your career goals

  • MGCCC Certificate of Completion

* An associate degree is not applicable for this program. Course completion does not guarantee a passing score on the Esri ArcGIS Fundamentals Certification Exam – 2201.
