About the Program
Construction Engineering Technology is an instructional program designed to prepare technicians for employment within the construction industry. In the program, students learn about construction materials and their use, blueprint reading, CAD software, surveying and construction layout, cost estimation, leadership and management skills, safety standards, and basic architectural design.
Job Outlook
The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the growth rate for a construction engineering technician over the next decade to be 8 percent, which is faster than average. Construction engineering technicians make a median hourly wage of $47.55, with an annual income of approximately $98,890, depending on their location, education, and experience.

Degree Options and Requirements
The Construction Engineering Technology program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to a four-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with an MGCCC advisor. Classes are offered in Choice and Online formats to accommodate student work schedules. Choice courses allow students to CHOOSE to attend in person, in real time via video conferencing, or by completing work online in their own time.
