MGCCC is adding more opportunities in the growing field of virtual reality with the opening of the Interactive Digital Center on the Harrison County Campus. The VR Innovation Academy will serve as the Gulf Coast region’s new home for educating and training the next generation of Extended Reality (XR) developers. The Interactive Digital Center will provide opportunities for interested parties to develop XR solutions for business, industry, and other organizations. The Simulation and Game Design Technology program will help meet the job market demand for AR/VR/XR engineers, which has grown by 1,400 percent in the last year for many sectors, including industrial automation, aerospace, construction, education, and health care.

Simulation and Game Design Technology
The Simulation and Game Design Technology curriculum is a one-year program of study designed to train students to become simulation and game developers. Through a partnership with EON Reality, Inc., MGCCC students will learn to develop augmented and virtual reality content as they train in the state-of-the-art Interactive Digital Center (IDC).
