Certificate (CNA and Phlebotomy)

  • Health Care Assistant

    Weekday Classes Only

    Become a health care assistant (HCA) and Phlebotomist in only one-semester. As a one (1) semester 16 credit hour course, the curriculum prepares the student for the national exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and a Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT). Earning two distinct health-related certifications will offer a wide variety of benefits for the HCA graduate, the potential employer, and the patients or clients in acute care, long-term care, assisted living facilities, and private homes.

Generic / Prelicensure (ADN and PN)

  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Prelicensure

    Weekday Classes Only

    Become a registered nurse (RN) with one semester of pre-requisites and four semesters of ADN course work. The curriculum allows for an ADN entrance and completion or an ADN entrance with a PN Exit completion. As an ADN/PN option program, the curriculum is designed to prepare students to become qualified registered nurses or practical nurses.

  • Practical Nursing (PN)

    Become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) with one semester of pre-requisites, two semesters of ADN/PN course work, and the final semester of PN course work. The curriculum allows for a PN entrance and completion or an ADN entrance with a PN Exit completion. As an ADN/PN option program, the curriculum is designed to prepare students to become qualified licensed practical nurses.

Transition into Professional Nursing Pathways (TPNP)

  • LPN to RN (Non-Hybrid)

    Weekday Classes Only

    The LPN-to-RN Non-Hybrid option is designed to assist qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with the transition to RN practice via a classroom (face to face) learning environment. After successfully completing the summer transition course, NUR 1116, the LPN student accepted into the Non-hybrid option is awarded fourteen (14) semester hours of credit for previous nursing education. Thereafter, the student will by-pass the first year courses required of ADN graduates and enter semester 3 (Weekday) of the ADN program. Beginning with NUR 2322, and thru the terminal ADN courses, NUR 2434 and NUR 2422, course and clinical works will include the ADN semester 3 Generic/Prelicensure students.

  • LPN to RN (Hybrid)

    Weekday OR Evening / Weekend Classes

    The LPN-to-RN Hybrid option is designed to assist qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with the transition to RN practice via either a weekday hybrid or an evening/weekend hybrid (face to face and distance) learning environment. After successfully completing the summer transition course, NUR 1116, the LPN student accepted into the day or evening/weekend hybrid option is awarded fourteen (14) semester hours of credit for previous nursing education. Thereafter, the student will by-pass the first year courses required of ADN graduates and enter semester 3 (corresponding day or evening/weekend) of the ADN program. Beginning with NUR 1116, and thru the terminal ADN courses, NUR 2434 and NUR 2422, course and clinical works (evening/weekend option only) will include the EMS/Paramedic-to-RN students, and the Respiratory Therapist-to-RN students.

  • EMS/Paramedic to RN (Hybrid)

    Evening / Weekend Classes Only
    The EMS/Paramedic-to-RN Hybrid option is designed to assist qualified Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRPs) with the transition to RN practice via an evening/weekend hybrid (face to face and distance) learning environment. After successfully completing the summer transition courses, NUR 1115 and NUR 1116, the NRP student accepted into the evening/weekend hybrid option is awarded nine (9) semester hours of credit for previous EMS/Paramedic education. Thereafter, the student will by-pass the first year courses required of ADN graduates and enter semester 3 (evening/weekend) of the ADN program. Beginning with NUR 1115 or NUR 1116, and thru the terminal ADN courses, NUR 2434 and NUR 2422, course and clinical works will include the Respiratory Therapist-to-RN students and the LPN-to-RN (evening/weekend) students.

  • Respiratory Therapist to RN (Hybrid)

    Evening / Weekend Classes Only
    The Respiratory Therapist-to-RN Hybrid option is designed to assist qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) with the transition to RN practice via an evening/weekend hybrid (face to face and distance) learning environment. After successfully completing the summer transition courses, NUR 1115 and NUR 1116, the RRT student accepted into the evening/weekend hybrid option is awarded nine (9) semester hours of credit for previous Respiratory Therapy education. Thereafter, the student will by-pass the first year courses required of ADN graduates and enter semester 3 (evening/weekend) of the ADN program. Beginning with NUR 1115 or NUR 1116, and thru the terminal ADN courses, NUR 2434 and NUR 2422, course and clinical works will include the EMS/Paramedic-to-RN students and the LPN-to-RN (evening/weekend) students.

  • Medical Assistant to LPN (Non-Hybrid)

    The Medical Assistant-to-LPN Non-Hybrid Pilot Program is designed to assist qualified Medical Assistants (MAs) with the transition to LPN practice via a traditional face to face learning environment.

    After successfully completing the summer transition course, PNV 1524, the MA student accepted into the pilot program is awarded six (6) semester hours of credit for previous Medical Assistant education. Thereafter, the student will by-pass the first semester nursing courses (NUR 1118, NUR 1121, and NUR 1131) required of PN graduates and enter semester 2 of the PN program, during the fall or spring semester. Beginning with NUR 1217 and NUR 1223, and thru the terminal PN courses, PNV 1676, PNV 1813, and PNV 1914, course and clinical works will include practical nursing students and the associate degree nursing Prelicensure students. Credit for these courses plus the 6 credit hours for previous education equal the required fifty-four (54) semester hours required to be awarded the Practical Nurse Diploma.
