The 33rd annual Student Art Exhibition & Competition of the Mississippi Community/Junior College Art Instructors Association (MCJCAIA) will be hosted in March 2021 by the MGCCC Jackson County campus. The annual statewide exhibition will feature nearly 200 student works from 13 different Mississippi community and junior college campuses. The works are chosen by the individual instructors from their respective institutions as examples that they consider the best efforts of their students from the academic school year. The number of entries for each campus is determined by their individual enrollment numbers, so each school has a limited number of works that can be submitted for the exhibition. Artworks can be submitted into the 2-D categories of Drawing, Design, Painting/Mixed Media, Photography, Printmaking, and Digital/Computer Art, as well as the 3-D categories of Ceramics and 3-D Design.

This year’s competition will be judged by New Orleans-based artists and educators Sarah House and Phil Sandusky. The show will open to the public at the MGCCC Jackson County campus Fine Arts Gallery at 1PM on Monday, March 8, and will run until Friday, March 26. Gallery hours are 9AM-3PM Monday-Friday.
